I have been trying to program my SONY RM-YD017 remote control to control my Dish Satellite with no results, can someone help me out on this? When you say "Adress" bottom what do you mean? I did try to do the opposite, program my Dish Remote to control my new Sony LCD HDTV with no results either. Help please

I just hooked up a new Sony DVD/VCR combo to my in laws older Magnavox TV. The remote they have is a generic, the one with the TV broke. But the VCR/DVD combo will not play on the tv without hitting a button on the TV. Is their remote with the correct button?

Hi, Great website. I have seen this question asked acouple of times but couldn't find the answer. I just bought a Emerson 19" Model LC195EM87/LC195EM82. I have the Dish network system 625 with 5.0 IR remote. I have tried all the codes in the manual and on thier website. Also have tried the scan method with no luck. Do you know of the code to use? Thank you.

Hi. I am looking for a universal remote code for a Philips Universal control. I know that it works with the DishNetwork b/c we've used it on our other tv set when we had lost that remote. Do you know where I could find a list of codes for something like that?

Just bought a Westinghouse 42" 1080p TV. I did the Code Power Scan, and the code I got was 640. Hope this works for others with the Westinghouse brand.

Yes, you can use a universal remote as long as the receiver is not a 4000 or 5000 series receiver.

I programed my remote for my Symphonic tv code 132, it will change channels and turn down the volume, but will not turn the volume up. Can you help me?

Hi,

HELP! I can't change chanels up nor down. The guide, info, menu etc. buttons function, but the numbers and the arrows are not responding to the satelite. I even tried to change the channel from the box and that did not work either.
I put new batteries, just in case,,.. no luck

Question: Can the remote for my Dish 625 be set up so that one button powers both the TV and the surround sound receiver on and off simultaneously? I don't want to have to switch to AUX every time i want to turn on/off the receiver. thanks!

I just programmed my Dish IR 3.0 remote to my Durabrand TV. My TV has to go into game mode for me to play my XBOX and there is no Game mode on the Dish remote. How do i put it into game mode?

Hey, I have a Sony digital audio/video control center that I would like the remote to control. I was wondering if devices like this can be supported by the remote or not. I used to have a learning remote controlling it, but that was before I got Dish, plus it broke. I will go get another one if need be, but it would be nice if the dish remote could control that too. Sorry for the confusion Carlton. You are absolutely correct, it was my misinterpretation.
I was ONLY talking about the RF capability for a TV2 Dish remote which operates a Dish DVR or other UHF capable Dish receiver from another room. This is a direct RF operation, no IR involved (although the same remote has IR capability also to operate certain components in the remote location).
This is a unique operation of a Dish receiver and requires the appropriate Dish remote that has UHF/IR capability.
Not to be confused with RF remotes that transmit signal via RF and then has an RF receiver that converts the signal back to IR to operate components in another room.

Dan: The 57 kHz signal is an Infrared signal. It is not an RF signal. You're getting the two confused. There is no remote that will control a Dish receiver directly over RF. If you want multi-room control from a universal remote, you'll need to get one that communicates with it's own base station via RF; the remotes base station would control the dish network receiver via IR. These instruction are for adding IR receiving capability to Dish receivers that do not have it.
