It includes a ripper that allows extraction from Blu-ray directly to an ISO file (which you can then mount and play back with any Blu-ray software player.) People should absolutely pay for movies if you want to own them, and backing them up/placing them on a media server is almost a must have for me. AnyDVD looks nice, but for some reason I'm still on the fence about picking it up. Not quite sure why... :/ I totally agree.
